How to Find Human Trafficking Awareness Events Near You

As a part of human trafficking awareness month, my family, myself, as well as my business are all dedicating our time to learn more and spread the word about events in our area. Last week, I shared a post all about how ordinary families can help fight against human trafficking which you can check out here.

Human trafficking affects millions of people and families all across the world. As part of human trafficking awareness month it’s not only important to help those in need, but to spread awareness too. If you do a little research, you may be surprised to find events, seminars, or speakers coming to your area to educate the public.

How to find an event near you

You don’t have to go far in order to find an event that will be near you! There are so many great resources out there to help you find an event that is a perfect fit for you and your schedule. So here are my top three places to look:

1. National Human Trafficking Hotline Calendar

First of all, The National Human Trafficking Hotline Calendar has a robust list of different events and training all over the country. This is a great place to start to find events that are in your area, or are in an area that you would like to travel to.

2. Blue Campaign Newsletter

End Slavery Now is another amazing resource that will email you about events near you! By giving your email, you will be redirected to a page where you can locate events near you, and learn more about them.

3. Your City’s Community Calendar

Finally, be sure to check your city and nearby cities for community activities. You may be surprised to find awareness events in public locations such as schools or libraries. These events are typically free, and a great way to attend something local.

Houston Events by Chi St. Lukes

In Houston, Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) Ministry has partnered with the Baylor St. Lukes foundation to help spread awareness of the health-related consequences that stem from human trafficking. They provide free training and events that are free to the public to help educate people about human trafficking. So if you are in the Houston area, here are some events that they will be hosting:
